A seminar centered around time management. It goes into detail on the importance of time management and how it can affect student life. It teaches students on how they can improve their time management and can help them find time management strategies that works best for them. Learning time management is important for a working student as it helps them better balance both their academics and their jobs.

The time management seminar discusses topics such as poor time management, different types of time management techniques, how students can find techniques that effectively work for them, and lastly, how to implement time management in daily life.

Time management is a problem for many working students, as they have a larger amount of workload compared to their peers with the addition of their work on top of studies. Knowing proper time management skills and techniques, can help the student better manage their work and academic load, and have more equal work-life balance.

Colleges can check if students are interested in a time management seminar by passing around surveys or interest checks via email/posters around campus. The venue can be face-to-face or online depending on the budget and number of attendees. Ideally it could be held once a school year. The speaker would be someone who is experienced in time management.

Time management is an essential skill to all as it efficiently organizes schedules, duties, and activities. Flexible Learning & Extended Completion

FLEX is a program that allows working students to attend up to 20% of their classes online. Additionally, it gives a 24 to 48-hour extension on their assignments. FLEX allows students to submit assignments past the set deadline. This ensures that students have extra time to submit their assignments to accommodate their busy work schedules.

The Flexible Attendance & Deadline Program, or FLEX, is an academic accommodation program created to aid working students in balancing their work and school obligations. The program offers flexibility while retaining academic standards instead of punishing students for events out of their control.

The program reduces the required face-to-face attendance to 80% of the semester by allowing qualified students to attend up to 20% of their classes online. When work-related conflicts happen or life-changing events occur, students may ask for a 24-48-hour extension for assignments, tests, quizzes, and projects as long as they provide the necessary paperwork.

The majority of accommodations include using the online learning platforms that are already in use at many universities and colleges, making administrative changes and establishing communication between teachers and students. Because of this, colleges can put the program into place with little additional expense while giving their students support.

Other students may also benefit from similar accommodations when necessary due to uncontrollable circumstances such as medical issues, transportation issues, or family obligations. For all students, this results in a more welcoming and encouraging environment.

Early registration period

The Early Registration Period Program allows qualified students to register for their classes early. The program assists working students in enrolling in classes that best fit their availability based on their work schedules.

The Early Registration Period allows working students to register for their classes two weeks in advance to secure their ideal class slots. The addition and dropping of courses would be extended by a week, specific registration aid, counseling on course selection, and prioritized online registration. Working students are assured that the slots that suit their work schedule are secured, ensuring that their work schedules will not interfere with their school schedule.

At least one to two weeks before the regular enrollment period, eligible students may register for classes. They have priority access to all courses so they can adjust their class schedules to fit their work schedules. Additionally, students can modify their schedules if work hours change with the use of the program's extended add/drop period.

The program aids working students in avoiding scheduling conflicts between work and school. It guarantees access to the necessary subjects for their degree programs, and lessens the possibility of graduation delays brought on by missed classes. Working students can balance their professional and academic obligations if they are given more flexibility and guidance during enrollment.

The improved registration process can help the larger student body. The system is less congested during enrollment when registrations are spread out over a longer time period, which makes the registration process easier and more effective for every student.

Because it mainly relies on the changes to the current enrollment process and online registration systems, the program is cost-effective. As a majority of colleges and universities already use digital registration platforms, implementation would primarily entail updating registration schedules, training staff, and establishing eligibility requirements. This increases the overall effectiveness of the enrollment process.

Online classes

Online classes give students the option to take their classes remotely online. Students taking fully online classes would have the same coursework and classes as a face-to-face student would. The working student would be able to complete the course online and receive their degree.

Students would have all their classes online via Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or any virtual meeting application the college chooses. All their assignments and outputs would also be submitted online via Learning management systems such as Canvas, Brightspace, Google Classroom, or websites created by the college. The coursework would still be the same or similar compared to its face-to-face counterpart, but adapted to fit online learning. As online learning takes place entirely online, classroom/laboratory fees can be waived for working students’ tuition.

Online classes should be an option that working students can take in order for them to be able to still pursue education while they work. With online classes, the school day will be significantly shorter for working students as they would only need to attend their virtual classes, then do their assignments. Online classes are a good alternative for full-time workers, as it allows them to continue their education without having to give up their job.

Online classes make education more accessible. Some students would benefit from online classes, other than working students, such as students who live far from campus and cannot dorm/move nearby, students with serious health conditions, or students with family obligations/other heavy responsibilities. These students and plenty more would benefit from online classes
