Working students are those who actively work while continuing their education while balancing the demands of both work and school. Depending on their schedules many of these students attend classes during the day and work during the night. There are a variety of reasons for needing to work, such as providing for their families and paying for their own education while developing their portfolios and gaining useful work experience. Regardless of their motives, students encounter certain difficulties in balancing both responsibilities. Their experiences, motives, and challenges of working students are discussed in this article along with the significance of creating support systems that help them thrive academically and professionally.

The average college student has the similar routine of waking up, commuting to school, going to classes, hanging out with friends or doing a recreational activity before doing schoolwork before going to bed. However this routine is a little different for a working college student, before or after school they work at their jobs. Whether it be part-time, freelance or even their own business, working students do dedicate a portion of their time to their jobs. However not all working students can perfectly balance their work life and academic life. This is a common challenge working students face, they can\u2019t manage their time properly, they may neglect their academics, or have no free time due to their busy schedule. There are many methods and solutions to get working students to be able to better balance their work and academics.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n

\n\t\tMental and Physical health of working students.<\/u>\n\t<\/a><\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Everyone faces their own problems with their health, be it mentally or physically, working students too; their health is impacted from handling both college and a job at the same time. Working students cite that they feel stressed and anxious from the pressure of work and school. Because they have minimal breaks in between the two they also get less hours of sleep which leads to sleep deprivation. All of this work can lead the working student to burnout. Its important for working students to identify these health issues before they get worse. While it is advised to speak to professionals on how to treat mental and physical health issues there are some solutions working students can try to improve their overall health. <\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n

\n\t\tThe Lack of structured support systems for working students.<\/u>\n\t<\/a><\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

When people face difficult challenges in their life, or experiencing difficult times most have a support system to rely on. For some working students, they don\u2019t have many options for support. Many are alone, having to carry the challenges that come being a working student with little to no help. There are many support systems working students need that either aren\u2019t accessible to them or aren\u2019t generally available. An example of this is financial support, many schools offer financial support to their students who need it, but there are working students who don\u2019t meet the qualifications to avail of it. Some other support systems that working students lack are academic support for their studies, a community or organization, counciling services, and support from their family and friends. Support systems are important everyone should have them, including working students, lets look further into what support systems working students need.  <\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n

Regardless of their motivation. Juggling work and school requirements pose particular difficulties that may have an impact on their general college experience, academic success, and well being.
